CASE STUDY // MISSION + VALUES REBRAND

Revitalizing Culture

After a challenging season, Modivcare looked to bolster cross-functional team connection and reignite its mission and values. Leadership launched an internal values rebrand centered on the words: Caring, Collaborative, Dedicated, and Purposeful. Brought to life through messaging on social media, posters, signage, thank-you cards, videos, and honoring culture-catalyst employees with digital announcement graphics weekly, and ongoing engagement daily. The activation helped keep the values top of mind so teammates recognize, honor, and embody the values daily.

PROBLEM

Facing a challenging period after fluctuating conditions and markets, the sense of connection between teams needed to be bolstered and restored, helping teams regain their sense of connection to the company’s mission, supporting one another, and rebuilding from the inside out. But, without a unifying cultural anchor, the organization risked burnout and employee disengagement.

SOLUTION

To address these challenges, leadership initiated a company-wide internal values rebrand, aligning the organization under four new core values: Caring, Collaborative, Dedicated, and Purposeful. The marketing and communications team translated these values into tangible, visible elements that employees could engage with daily. This included the design and distribution of visually striking posters, thank-you cards, social media ads for both internal and external audiences, desk-friendly mission and values displays, and value-centric videos. A company-wide kickoff call debuted an inspiring video to launch the initiative, while Viva Engage was used throughout the month to share videos, stories, and reminders that reinforced the values. These assets brought the values from abstract ideas into the physical and digital spaces employees occupied every day.

IMPLEMENTATION

The campaign was more than a design refresh—it was a cultural activation. Employees were encouraged to embody the values in their work and interactions, fostering a renewed sense of purpose. In meetings and daily workflows, leaders and teammates made intentional efforts to “live the values” by supporting one another, offering transparency about workloads and challenges, and celebrating examples of values in action. The marketing collateral acted as a constant visual reminder of the company’s renewed direction and the behaviors expected from every team member.

OUTCOMES

The internal rebrand helped shift momentum across the organization. Performance metrics in other lines of business began to improve, reflecting the renewed energy and collaboration within teams. Employees rallied together, willingly stepping into new roles, sharing responsibilities, and picking up the slack where needed. Caring for the well-being of coworkers became a shared priority, which translated into more connected workflows, better communication, and increased transparency around OKRs and ongoing challenges. The rebrand not only reinforced a shared vision but also contributed to the ongoing rebuild the cultural foundation needs for sustained growth and resilience.

The values were added alongside the Modivcare logo to create a connected group. Using the logo vertically felt like a pillar of support, while the chosen heart icon can be used as a separate graphic.

LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

Modivcare’s Leadership Academy served as an internal program for personal care service employees to learn leadership tactics, advance their skills, and level up faster. The team needed a custom, branded logo that felt connected to the overall brand. The podium-graduation cap design represented the concepts of leadership and education tied together. Additionally, fun and varied virtual backgrounds for Microsoft Teams were created for nominated employees attending online classes.

DIGITAL BANNERs

Created a series of static and animated banners for use across email, sharepoint, and brandfolder featuring Modivcare’s full range of service lines, serving as an engaging introduction to company communication.

INSIGHTFUL MOMENT

The power of consistency plays a major role for this brand, but designing new ideas within an established grid system can be a challenge when trying to keep layouts fresh. Solutions as a result called for changes in scale, proportion, and diversity across grid elements.
